FREE iStubz Bundle With Every dockBoss Purchase!

Mar15_2013We’ve been getting into the giving mood here at CableJive, so it might be worth a few seconds of your day every now and then to check for any promotions we’re running. They’re a good way to either save some cash or at least get something extra. Like this one we just started today, for instance:

From now until March 20th we’re giving away a free iStubz Bundle with the purchase of any dockBoss cable from our web-store at www.cablejive.com. The iStubz are the perfect travel-sized sync and charge cable for any 30-pin iDevice, and in the bundle comes not one, but both versions of iStubz (7cm and 22cm lengths)!

We realize if you’re getting the dockBoss because you want to connect non-iDevices to iPod speaker docks there’s a chance you don’t actually own an iDevice yourself. That may be true, but if so, I bet you know someone who does! So at the very least, you get a dockBoss, and you get to give someone else a gift on us. Go ahead, take the credit. They’ll never know it was free. We won’t rat you out. Promise!

samDock: Listen and charge your Samsung phone on your iPod or iPhone dock

Announced at CES 2013, samDock broke ground as the first & only cable dedicated to connecting Samsung Galaxy devices to iPod speaker docks & audio systems. If you’re a Galaxy SIII or Note user, it’s never been easier give your favorite Android device access to the wide world of 30-pin audio docks currently on the market (and getting cheaper by the day!). One simple connection to charge your device and listen to your favorite tunes in stunning quality. Don’t believe us? Check out our samDock video above to see it in action.

samDock Troubleshooting

AudioOutputModeNoteIIOur new samDock cable opens up a world of options for Samsung Galaxy SIII & Note II owners to connect to a variety of high-quality iPod docks and speaker systems for charging, listening to audio, and syncing data. Never before has such a solution been created specifically for Galaxy devices. In most cases it is a seamless, plug-and-play accessory giving you instant access to your docking system’s features. However, we were just made aware of a very particular setting that may be preventing the samDock from working for some customers  right off the bat. The good news is, there’s a simple solution.

If you connect your Galaxy SIII or Note II to a docking station with the samDock and you are able to get charging but not audio, you’ll want to make sure that you have enabled your device to send audio through it’s micro USB connector. To do this, go into the settings menu, click on the “Accessory” tab, and ensure “Audio output mode” is selected with a check mark (see image). On some devices, that “Accessory” tab may be named “Dock” instead, but the menu you’ll find within is the same, and the solution is just as simple. If you have confirmed that Audio output mode is enabled and you still have trouble getting the samDock to work, please don’t hesitate to contact our service department at www.cablejive.com/service and we’ll be happy to help you further from there.

dockBoss air Wireless Bluetooth Adapter for iPod Speaker Docks

It’s a crazy day for us here at CableJive, as we launch our biggest non-cable product yet, the dockBoss air. Those familiar with our dockBoss line of products know that they’re designed to help expand the compatibility of 30-pin iPod speaker docks to connect with a wider range of devices, and it’s with the dockBoss air that we take that concept to its true (and logical) next level.

dockBoss air is a small adapter that connectes any Bluetooth-enabled audio device to your iPod speaker docks and systems, allowing you to stream HiFi audio wirelessly. It pairs with your devices quickly and easily so connecting to your systems is as simple as being in range. It’s powered by the docking station / system itself, so no need for chargers or batteries. Perfect for Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone, or new lightning-equipped iDevice users looking to get a working speaker dock for their audio players, or classic iPod, iPad, & iPhone users just looking to go wireless. Not to mention streaming audio from your PC, tablet, or laptop. Plus, if you have an AUX input in your car, you can pair it with our +USB Line Out Dock Cable and a USB car charger like our dualCarCharge and instantly add Bluetooth wireless audio to your car!

There’s never been a better time to be the boss of your dock. Our dockBoss air is available right now:

dockBoss Compatibility Help

Our dockBoss and dockBoss+ cables have helped thousands of people connect non-iPod devices to a growing variety of previously iDevice-exclusive music systems. With standard docking stations, like the Bose SoundDock and countless others, compatibility has been excellent almost across the board. However, when it comes to home theater or car-oriented systems, there are still some that don’t want to play nice. Here’s a good way to tell ahead of time whether or not a dockBoss cable will be compatible with your system:

Find (or borrow) an iPod or iPhone and connect it to your system. If upon connecting, the iPod/iPhone gets locked onto a screen that reads “accessory connected” or something similar (see example on right), and you find yourself unable to use the controls on the iPod/iPhone, there’s a good chance the dockBoss won’t work for you.

Here’s why: Systems that lock an iPod or iPhone’s screen and control mechanism use a digital audio interface, which specifically requires an iPod or iPhone to be connected. These systems are custom-built, with elements like control, data, playlists, etc., all deeply ingrained in their own unique software. It isn’t simply good enough to “trick” those systems into thinking an iPod is connected because they actually require the ability to continuously communicate with an iDevice on a system-specific level.

If you find that your system does not lock the iPod/iPhone’s screen and controls, then there’s a good chance a dockBoss cable WILL work for you. These systems use an analog audio interface, which generally jives quite well with dockBoss cables, allowing you to listen to whatever your heart desires from your favorite non-iDevice.

So next time you’re unsure if the dockBoss will work for you, borrow an iPod or iPhone and see if you get locked out. If not, then you should be good to go. As always feel free to email any specific questions to us at service@cablejive.com

Update (9/28/2012): If you have an iPhone 5, or other Lightning-enabled iDevice, the dockBoss+ CAN work with some digital audio interfaces. For more information, read this post: http://blog.cablejive.com/2012/09/27/dockboss-iphone-5-kit-is-here/

Kenburg Products Join The CableJive Lineup

The folks over at Kenburg Technology are passionate about finding interesting solutions to common connectivity problems. Naturally we share similar sentiments, so while pondering new products to add to our lineup, we were curious to see what they had up their sleeves. And today, we’re proud to officially introduce two of their newest products to the CableJive lineup: the DockMicro adapter and their Kaleidaz colored charge & sync cables.

The DockMicro is a simple-yet-brilliant 30-pin to Micro USB adapter, that allows you to charge and sync your iPod, iPad, or iPhone using a micro USB connection. A huge benefit to anyone who uses both Apple and Android devices, or for those who frequently find themselves in mixed company. It’s great to have around for those emergency charging situations when you might not have a 30-pin cable handy.

The Kaleidaz cables let you separate yourself from the pack, by adding a splash of color to the normally drab black & white world of charge & sync cables. I personally find these cables great in any charging scenario, as the bright colors make it easier to quickly locate my iPhone. Anyone who spends enough time fumbling around a dark hotel room for their once-dead iDevice may agree.

Both products are available now! Keep an eye on these and any new Kenburg products we offer on the “Kenburg” brand section of our website.

50% OFF All Certified Pre-Opened Products!

We just launched our re-designed “Certified Pre-Opened” section, and to kick things off we’re selling all available pre-opened products at 50% OFF regular MSRP! If you’re looking to score great CableJive products on-the-cheap, now is definitely the time!

We regularly get inventory returned to us that was opened, but remains in practically-new, perfect working condition. Unlike others who may try to sell those units as brand-new (we’re looking at you throngs of shady eBay cable pushers), we take a more honest approach. We put them to the test just to be sure, and if they pass, then you get to buy them at a significant discount. It’s as simple as that.

Due to the limited and ever-changing nature of this inventory, available products and quantities change daily. Be sure to check back often so you don’t miss out on any deals!
